Student Lesson Expectations

Scheduling

Lessons are typically scheduled once a week on a day convenient for the student. Virtual lessons are also available where needed. Scheduling is available through a convenient online portal.

Payments

Lessons will be billed monthly and payment must be made by the first lesson of every month. Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of the lesson or the payment for that lesson will not be applied to a future lesson.

Student Commitments

It is expected that the student practice on a regular schedule. Much like learning new skills in school, playing an instrument requires practice. The most improvement is seen with quality practice throughout the week between each lesson. The amount of time spent does not always reflect better practice habits. Students should use their practice time to refine skills and identify areas that still need improvement rather than striving for perfection. Playing an instrument is all about progress, not perfection.

Parent Commitments

A parent or guardian is expected to support the student through each step in the learning process. This includes attending lessons on a regular basis and assisting your student with practice sessions at home. A parent or guardian must be in attendance for the first two lessons of any new student, and for all lessons of a student under the age of 8.
